ExtraExtra ("we," "our," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile and web applications ("App") and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use ExtraExtra:

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address.

Authentication Data: We use Supabase to handle login and account security.

Preferences & Usage Data: We may store your podcast preferences, saved sessions, or news sources you select so we can personalize your experience.

Generated Content: We may retain the podcasts generated for you (news scripts, audio files) for performance, personalization, and troubleshooting purposes.

Payment Information: We do not process or store your credit card or billing details. Payments are handled directly through Apple, Google, or other third-party processors.

We do not collect analytics, browsing history, or device tracking data at this time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and personalize your podcasts.
  • Manage your account and authentication securely.
  • Improve the stability and reliability of the App.
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, or important notices.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information in the following circumstances:

With Service Providers: We use Supabase for authentication and secure data storage, and Google Text-to-Speech ("Chirp") to generate audio. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality.

For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Business Transfers: If ExtraExtra is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.

We do not share your data with advertisers.

4. Data Storage and Retention

  • Your account data (name, email, preferences) is stored securely in Supabase.
  • Generated podcasts may be stored long-term to allow playback history and personalization.
  • We will retain your information as long as your account is active, unless you request deletion.

5. Security

We take security seriously. We use Supabase's managed infrastructure and industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

6. Children's Privacy

ExtraExtra is safe for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

7. Your Privacy Rights

If you are a U.S. resident, you may have rights under state laws (e.g., California Consumer Privacy Act - CCPA). These may include the right to:

  • Access the personal data we have about you.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data).
